Review movie 'Van der Wijck'

“ Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck” Movie

          Tenggelamnya kapal van der wijck movie was adapted from a sage written by Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amarullah (Hamka)  in 1930. He was wrote other sage, such as Dibawah lindungan ka’bah. Tenggelamnya kapal van der wijck movie was produced by Soraya Intercine Films and directed by Sunil Soraya. Its production process for five years .This movie about the difference in social background which hinders the power of love with ends by death. This movie were played by Pevita Pearce, Herjunot Ali, Reza Rahadian, dan Randy Danistha, etc.

            The story starts with Zainuddin (Herjunot Ali), a young man Minang descent from Minangkabau goes to Batipuh, West Sumatera, for deepen his religious knowledge, but the villagers doesn’t like his coming because his background descendants, it makes Zainuddin feels sad and doesn’t has friends in Batipuh, but Hayati (Pevita Pearce) she wants to be his friend and share their story everyday by letter. One day, the villagers was saw their closeness and cast out Zainuddin from Batipuh. Before Zainuddin go from Batipuh, Hayati and Zainuddin make a promise never leave and still faithfull till they can meet again to marry.

After Zainuddin go from Batipuh .Suddenly, comes Aziz (Reza Hardian) A young rich man from Padang Panjang makes Hayati fall in love with him till they had married. It makes Zainuddin feel so depressed, he never imagines the woman whom him love so much had married with the other man. 

            Zainuddin likes writing a story and novel to forgets his sullen past with Hayati, than he become a rich famous man and success in Surabaya with his Novel Teroesir. Whereas, Hayati and Aziz become a poor family and they decides to go to Surabaya. In Surabaya Zainuddin and Hayati was met. Aziz asks for helps to him because he had lost his job. Than Zainuddin was agreed and let them to stay in his luxurious home. After that, Aziz dead because he has suicided. Than, Zainuddin advise Hayati to back to Batipuh with Hollander, Van der wijck, but she has dead in his trip.

            Herjunot Ali,touches our heart and gives his emotional deeply. He also can speak Makassar dialect fluently.

Pevita Pearce plays her role very good,  and she looks so appreciate her role, and also Reza Hardian.

But I think this movie is bad in two side they are visual and title , cause the animation still untidy and looks so illusive, the tittle doesn’t suite to the content, normally the tittle is reflect the important part of story, but it’s not in this movie.

Overall, Tenggelamnya kapal van der wijck movie is an excellent movie. The plot is excellent. The characters are well developed.  The content and moral value is good and has cultural values. I intend to see this movie again. 

 

           

our dialogue 'Sangkuriang' in english

SANGKURIANG

Long long ago, there was Sukagara kingdom which is located in the province of west java. The kingdom led by a king names Surapati.

PART 1

One day, Surapati was hungry. He asked to his waitress to take  food for him.

Surapati                               : Waitress……. I’m hungry . please take food for me.

Dayang Sritasari               : (come overthe king with all of delicious food) this is my king…

Surapati                               : (eating the food) that’s the most delicious food that I ever eat. The taste so

  good. Thank you so much my waitress

Dayang Sritasari               : (smiling shy) you’re welcome my king. (walk out from king’s room)

PART 2

The following day ,in the morning  Surapati was angry because he looked at the living room there was nothing. No one the food for him.

Surapati                               : Arggh, that’s so annoyed. (looking at dining table) waitress……….! (angry)

Dayang Wisara                  : Yess…. My king ? (scared)

Surapati                               : Why there’s no food in the dinning table. Are you haven’t cooked for me?

Dayang Wisara                  : I’mmm… sor..sorry my king. I have late. I’m sorry (bow)

Surapati                               : Take me a food right now !!

Dayang Wisara                  : (run away)

Dayang Wisara                  : that’s my king… (still scared)

Surapati                               : (eating the food) arrrg… that’s so bad. I almost died after eat this food (throw

                                                   the food to Dayang Wisara angrily)

Dayang Wisara                  : I’m sorry my king..

Dayang Sritasari               : this is the delicious food my king . this is your favourite food (bow

                                                   and give a food for the king)

Surapati                               : (eating the food) really delicious… You are really smart in cooking and I like you .

                                                  What’s your name my waitress?

Dayang Sritasari               : (smiling shy) my name Sritasari my king.

Surapati                               : I have hypnotized with your delicious food. I loved the woman who can make

  me loved their making food. And that’s you. I loved you so much Sritasari. I love

  you.Will you marry me?

Dayang Sritasari               : (shocked) yes…I will my king..

PART 3

Surapati and Dayang Sritasari was married. They lived happily in the kingdom . After they married the kingdom have a miracle, that is all generation of kingdom will have timeless beauty and handosome. Than, Surapati and Dayang Sritasari had  twins daughter, named Dayang Citra and Dayang Sumbih , but Sritasari and Surapati were confused that they thought who will became deviser of kingdom.

Surapati                               : who will became deviser of this kingdom my queen?

Dayang Sritasari               : I’m so confused my king. I give it to you to decide it.

Surapati                               : (think hard) okay, I decided Dayang Sumbih will became deviser of this kingdom.

Dayang Sritasari               : I agree… but… how dayang citra can accept this decision?  She will angry to us.

                                                   Isn’t she?

Surapati                               : hmmm… we must exile dayang citra from this kingdom..

Dayang Sritasari               : what?? Impossible my king , dayang citra is my child. I’ve never thought live

  without her.

Surapati                               : my queen, I know what your feeling now. But, I think this is the best decision .

  we can’t let her grow in here. This is the kingdom. We should has one child and

  one deviser. Please, let dayang our child, dayang citra to go from here…

Dayang Sritasari               : (hug and cry)

Part 4

Dayang citra was throw away to a small village. She nurtured by an old woman. Whereas, Dayang Sumbi lifed happily in the kingdom. Dayang Sumbi very likes weaving. One day her yarn was felt into the hole but she didn’t get it. Finally she promised “if anyone can take my yarn I will marry with him if he a man. And I will became her my sister if she a girl” .One day an old scavenger can found DayangSumbi’s Yarn.

Dayang Sumbi                  :  thank you scavenger you was found my lost yarn. I’m so happy you found it.

Scavenger                          : no problem! I’m happy can help you.

Dayang Sumbi                  : as I was said. If a man who was found my yarn I will marry him. So I will marry

  you Scavenger!                                   

Scavenger                          : (confuse) really??

Dayang Sumbi                  : that’s okay, I will marry you

Because she had promise so she married with him silently. Then, they had a child. Unfortunately, the queen knew about it , so the queen extruded DayangSumbi from Sukagara kingdom.

Part 5

Dayang Sumbi lived in forest with  an old scavenger and their son, Sangkuriang. Sangkuriang doesn’t know that the scavenger was his dad, he just know that he is just his mom’s servant. One day, Sangkuriang and the scavenger go hunting together. Sangkuriang asked  the scavenger to shoot the deer. But the scavenger didn’t do it. Sangkuriang was upset and finally killed the Scavenger

Sangkuriang                      : hey scavenger! Kill those deer for me!

Scavenger                          : no! I won’t do it for you!

Sangkuriang                      : how dare you are! Im upset with you! (take up his gun and shoot the scavenger)

Sangkuriang returned to home, he was so regretful. DayangSumbi was greeted her soon happily. But, when she asked where is her husband. Sangkuriang mad to her because his mother was hided something behind him

Dayang Sumbi                  : oh my son! How’s your day? (greeting sangkuriang)

Sangkuriang                      : (make regretfull face) i.. i.. i.. im sorry mom

Dayang Sumbi                  : oh wait… where’s my husband? Did he not come with you??

Sangkuriang                      : WHATTT??! DID HE REALLY YOUR HUSBAND?? IT’S MEAN THAT HE IS MY

   FATHER??!

Dayang Sumbi                  : WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? SO UNTIL NOW YOU DIDN’T BELIEVE THAT HE IS

                                                  YOUR  FATHER??! (SPEAK ANGRILLY) (hit sangkuriang on face)

Sangkuriang                      : (make an upset face)

Dayang Sumbi                  : get out from my home!!

Part 6

Sangkuriang walked away from his home with trembling steps. He felt so tired and then he fainted. An old woman helped and treated him until he get heal

Old woman                        : oh sweety how poor you are (hug sangkuriang)

Sangkuriang                      : please help me (his body was shaking)

One day, he permited to his mother to go to worked. On the way, he met with the beautiful woman, she is his mom, DayangSumbi. But, Sangkuriang and dayangsumbi didn’t realized it.

Sangkuriang                      : hello beautifull lady, may I know your name?

Dayang Sumbi                  : (blushing) did you really want to know my name?

Sangkuriang                      : sure beautifull

They continue their conversation until to the deep conversation. they are fall in love and decide if they will married.Dayangcitra who feel jealous of their closeness tried to seized  Sangkuriang from DayangSumbi.Sheimmaditely went to kingdom to report the news to the executioner. And then, the executioner fetched and forced DayangSumbi back to the kingdom.

Dayang Citra                      : why dayang sumbi and sangkuriang so close, im so jealous wth dayang sumbi. I

  will report this information to the kingdom (make envy face)

At the kingdom

Dayang Citra                      : executioner! I have a news for you

Executioner                       : what news is it?

Dayang Citra                      : Dayang Sumbi was married with a man who’s called Sangkuriang and im so

   jealous with them. They are so close to each other,

Executioner                       : whattt??? It cannot happen, take dayang sumbi away from that man

Unfortunately, when DayangSumbi asked the queen’s blessing to let her married with a man. The queen didn’t allowed her. Because, RatuSritasari is going to give kingdom’s throne to her. And the queen  doesn’t allow to married twice.

Dayang Sumbi                  : mom, please let me marry with him, I’ll ready fallin in love with him (cry)

Queen Sritasari                 : no, you can’t marry with him

Dayang Sumbi                  : why mom?? (cry)

Queen Sritasari                 : because this kingdom will give the thorn for you.

Dayang Sumbi                  : so why? (still crying)

Queen Sritasari                 : because there is no queen who marry twice, so you are not allowed to be with

  him.

Dayang sumbi                   : but I love him mom (cry)

She can’t say anything to Sangkuriang. So she just stayed in her bedroom and decided never meet with him again. Oneday, she went out from her bedroom,she saw that the kingdom is so crowded. She asked to the queen what happended was and the queen answered that she will give an reward to Dayangcitra who found her.

Dayang Sumbi                  : (walk away from her bedroom and she meet the queen) (she was confused)

Queen sritasari                 : don’t make that face dear.

Dayang Sumbi                  : What happen here mom?

Queen sritasari                 : there will be an reward for your sister Dayang Citra.

Dayang sumbi                   : what reward? (curious)

Queen sritasari                 : the reward, because she was found you and bring you back here to kingdom.

  Come with me to see your sister dayang citra.

In the other place dayang sumbi didn’t know that dayang citra was come to kingdom with her husband which is sangkuriang.

Dayang citra                      : oh.. hello mom!

Queen sritasari                 : hello dear! Your sister Dayang sumbi also here~ (mom smile)

Dayang citra                      : hello dayang sumbi! Meet my husband, sangkuriang. (smile and spontanly grab

  and hold sangkuriang’s hand)

Dayang sumbi                   : (shock) umm… hello Dayang citra! Hello sangkuriang! (great them and hold her

   tears) I was happy for you all .

The queen was wed Sangkuriand with Dayang Citra, and allowed them to lived in the kingdom. DayangSumbi was so sad but she tried to participated in their happiness. Because she so loved her mother, her sister, and Sangkuriang. So she sacrificed her heart sincerely for them.

DUNIA FANTASI

Matahari terik bersinar dari ufuk timur aku dengan yang lainnya harus bergegas pergi ke Niagara seberang yang bernama Gelanggang Samudera, kami harus menyelematkan ratu kerajaan kami, kerajaan rajawali. Aku terbang bersama yang lainnya. Suasana kota memang tak sedang bersahabat. Perjalanan jauh kami disambut dengan kerasnya halilintar yang menyambar-menyambar, namun tetap kami putuskan untuk terus berjuang sampai ke gelanggang samudera, sialnya beberapa kilometer kemudian terjadi angin tornado yang begitu dahsyat sehingga kami harus terlempar dan terdampar di sebuah pulau kerajaan kora-kora. Kami berusaha melarikan diri namun sebagian kerajaan kami terkepung dan tertangkap di dalam istana boneka yaitu istana sakral milik kerajaan kora-kora. Akhirnya mereka memaksa kami untuk melawan mereka dalam perang bintang yaitu perang hukuman bagi kami yang memasuki wilayah kerajaan mereka. Terjadi pertarungan yang begitu hysteria,satu per satu korban berjatuhan, darah berceceran, namun tak kunjung berakhir perang yang kami hadapi. kami begitu khawatir melihat kinipasukan yang tersisa hanya beberapa orang saja. Akhirnya perang berakhir dengan perjanjian perdamaian poci-poci. Akan tetapi sebagai gantinya, kerajaan kami harus membuatkan bianglala raksasa untuk kerajaan kora-kora dalam waktu tiga hari tanpa upah. Bukan hal yang berat bagi kami. Tepat waktu kami menyelesaikan apa yang mereka inginkan.

Kemudian kami pun melanjutkan perjalanan. Ditengah perjalanan sayap kami mulai tak berfungsi akibat dipakai tanpa henti, kami memutuskan untuk mendarat di sebuah hutan lebat.sambil menunggu sayap kami pulih, kami berjalan menelusuri hutan, hingga kemudian kami harus melewati arung jeram yang begitu deras. Dan ini adalah hal yang tak mungkin dengan keadaan sayap kami yang seperti ini. Kami berharap akan datangnya bantuan. Sebab waktu kami yang tersisa tinggal 1 hari lagi. Tiba-tiba datanglah segrombolan kerajaan gajah bledug yang ramah dan baik hati. Mereka menawarkan kami bala bantuan. Setalah berhasil melewati arung jeram, kami begitu berterima kasih pada kerajaan gajah bledug. Setelah sayap kami pulih kami melanjutkan perjalanan dengan lancar. Hingga akhirnya kami sampai dikerajaan gelanggang samudera untuk menyelamatkan ratu.
